Antaeus' Work in Progress

The Voyager Cook Books 1 and 2

Cooking is a song of love. It is a symphony of food we prepare with love and a melody of flavors that we create for the special people in our lives. It is our gift from the heart to our family, our friends, and our loved ones. More than that, it is love that has been handed down from one generation to another—love passed on from mother to daughter, father to son, grandmother to grandchild, and neighbor to neighbor.

In a way, the tattered paper your grandmother wrote her meatloaf recipe on is a piece of family history—a form of immortality, if you will. The aroma of its cooking fills our kitchens and our hearts with fond memories. The food we prepare, like a song, will evoke memories of warm kitchens, chewy cookies, and love for years to come.

In this book, you will find over four hundred dishes from around the world that I created and perfected for my family. These are the songs that I have sung to my family, songs that I hope will be passed on for generations to come.

The Voyager Cook Collection

"The Voyager Cook Collection" is a two-book eclectic collection of more than 490 recipes, vegan dishes, preparation tips, kitchen notes, Tips, and instructions.

My philosophy on cooking has always been that preparing food is like creating a love song from the heart. It is a symphony of sustenance we prepare with love. A melody of flavors that we create for the special people in our lives. It is our heart-given gift to our family, loved ones, and friends.

Wherever my wife and I traveled, I would try a local dish. If we liked it, I would ask to speak to the cook, compliment them, and then ask for the recipe. Most cooks were glad to give me the ingredients but not the recipe. I would then experiment with the ingredients until I got it right.

Most recipes are accompanied by an introduction to where I first consumed them. In addition, some contain cooking "Tips," while others include alternate cooking or serving suggestions. The "Kitchen Notes" section includes when to add seasonings, kitchen Tips, emergency substitutions when to use spices, measurements, and helpful tips.
